• Vendor gateway support: Various gateway types are supported, including Citrix Cloud Gateway Service, NetScaler Gateway, Horizon UAG and Workspace ONE, with some support for multi-factor authentication
• Test results details: In addition to test success and failure, get detailed insights, including the timing of the various connection stages, multi-hop connection latency information, and a screenshot at the end of the test, which can be used for differential alerting.

• Built-in templates: With built-in support for Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, generic site load, and support for multi-step transaction flows, you can test the health, availability, and performance of your most important web and SaaS applications.
• Additional data collection: In addition to the key performance metrics, you can collect information such as SSL certificate validity, certificate expiration days left, HTTP success codes and even check for strings in the response of the HTTP request.
• Web transaction test: The web transaction test simulates click-for-click interactions that you or your users have with web and SaaS applications. A special ControlUp browser plug-in makes recording the steps to set up the test easy.

• Built-in network tests: Highly configurable built-in tests for DNS lookup, TCP and UDP ports, ping, traceroute, and shell execution ensure that you can monitor the availability of any of your datacenter resources.
• HTTP/S test: Our generic HTTP/S test lets you monitor the availability of any web server or web service. It supports POST and GET commands, configurable headers, authentication options, and SSL certificate validation.
• Microsoft Entra ID: Continuously measure the time it takes to send user and organization Query requests to the Entra ID endpoint and view more detailed information on the HTTP requests and traceroute.

Configurable alert policies will notify your operations team when any of your tested resources have availability or performance issues.

• Customizable conditions: Alert on test failures or combine multiple metric conditions to granularly control when alerts are generated and sent. You can also configure how many successive tests need to fail before the system starts alerting.
• Alerting methods: Get instantly alerted when tests start failing or when tests are recovered. Use email, customizable webhooks with token or basic auth or push alerts through our Microsoft Teams and ServiceNow integrations so you can start addressing issues before productivity is impacted.
• Daily summary: The Daily Digest email will summarize any resources affected by availability or performance issues throughout the previous 24 hours. You can configure recipients other than instant alerts for this email.

Intuitive dashboards and comprehensive reporting can provide detailed insights and trending information about environment health, availability and performance.

• Overview dashboards: The overview dashboard will give you a list or tile view of all your tested resources side by side with uptime indicators, health-over-time, and succeeded and failed test data over the last 24 hours
• Detailed test results: Select a tested resource to get a wealth of information. You can see detailed information over time with metrics relevant to the resource and even more detail per individual test.
• Historical data: Use the date and time selector to quickly toggle between recent timeframes, such as the last day, week, or month, or select specific time periods to retrieve historical data up to one year old.

ControlUp’s proactive synthetic monitoring platform is a cloud-based service, but your testing can be done from our cloud and your data center.

• Cloud locations: Get started with synthetic testing without having to set up any additional infrastructure by using one or more of our twelve globally dispersed testing locations
• Test from your data center: If you need to test internal resources that are not publicly accessible, you can set up your own testing locations anywhere that can securely upload test results to our cloud.
• List and geographic views: View synthetic test results by test location or in our map views. You can filter any available dashboards and reports to quickly understand geographic-specific availability issues.
