In accordance with Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act).
this statement sets out the steps that ControlUp has taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business. This statement is in respect of ControlUp’s financial year ended 31 December 2022 and was approved by the Company’s management on 04 December 2023.
The Act requires commercial organisations supplying goods or services with a turnover of more than £36 million to prepare and publish an annual ‘Slavery and human trafficking statement’. The statement must set out the steps an organisation has taken, if any, during its financial year to ensure that slavery or human trafficking is not taking place in its business or supply chain.
Modern slavery is an international crime, affecting millions of people around the world – a growing global issue that transcends age, gender, and ethnicities. Sadly, vulnerable people from overseas as well as across the UK, are forced to work illegally against their will across many different sectors from agriculture, construction, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, and more.
ControlUp UK Limited is a privately held company limited by guarantee, incorporated in England and Wales, and held by ControlUp technologies LTD. It is an application development company for IT monitoring and troubleshooting, based in several locations around the world.
Our business largely uses professionally qualified people employed directly by ControlUp or seconded from a member firm in a limited number of countries. Our people policies ensure fair treatment of our people around the world.
Our external suppliers are in a low-risk sectors (such as professional services) as well as suppliers in the events and travel sectors, which are potentially higher risk.
ControlUp has implemented policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act. These include:
• A commitment to conducting business ethically and transparently.
• Risk assessments to identify and assess potential areas of modern slavery.
• Due diligence processes for evaluating and monitoring suppliers.
ControlUp expects all suppliers and business partners to adhere to ethical standards. The Supplier Code of Conduct includes provisions related to modern slavery, and suppliers are required to demonstrate their commitment to eradicating slavery and human trafficking from their own operations and supply chains.
Our reporting mechanism for the Modern Slavery Act Statement is designed to encourage transparency and accountability. We have established clear channels for employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking within our organization or supply chains. Reports can be made confidentially through designated points of contact, ensuring that individuals feel secure when raising potential issues. All reports will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken promptly. We are committed to fostering a culture that values and protects those who come forward to report any suspicions or incidents, reinforcing our dedication to eradicating modern slavery in all its forms.
