Six Amazing ControlUp DEX Platform Views

DEXmasDigital Employee Experience (DEX)

ControlUp collects thousands of digital employee experience (DEX) metrics in real time and presents them as easy-to-consume, actionable insights. In this blog, I’ll share six of my favorite amazing DEX views.

Employee Dashboard

ControlUp comes with a built-in Employee Dashboard. This dashboard provides insights into the end-user experience by monitoring various metrics related to employee productivity and system performance.

  • Employee scoring: Experience scores are more than a technology score. They take into account employee activity and can prioritize foreground apps. Scores require no initial setup and are fully customizable to fit your organization’s needs.
  • Employee overview dashboard: Our intuitive employee overview dashboard is the best starting point for every digital workplace leader or IT admin who wants a high-level, over-time view of the digital employee experience in their environment.
  • Employee details view: You can drill down into an employee’s score to understand what factors are negatively affecting their experience and learn about the technologies that comprise their digital workplace.

Device Security Dashboard

ControlUp Secure DX is designed to enhance endpoint security and improve compliance by identifying and remediating device security issues.

  • Security issue detection: Secure DX scans devices for vulnerabilities, outdated patches, and weak security settings using customizable templates.
  • Automated remediation: It can automatically or manually (as shown in the video below) remediate detected issues, such as updating applications and operating systems.
  • Security scoring: This tool provides security scores for issues, devices, apps, and users, helping prioritize remediation efforts based on risk.
  • Compliance monitoring: Ensures devices meet industry or organizational compliance standards by collecting and analyzing OS and application inventory.

Unified Communications Live Callers Dashboard

IT teams must ensure high-quality communication experiences, especially in remote or distributed work environments. The ControlUp Edge DX Live Callers Dashboard is designed to monitor and troubleshoot live call experiences in real time.

  • Real-time monitoring: The dashboard provides real-time data on ongoing calls, including metrics such as packet jitter, latency, Mean Opinion Score (MOS), CPU utilization, and Wi-Fi strength.
  • Detailed insights: It offers detailed views of each call, allowing IT teams to see which devices are experiencing issues with audio, video, or screen sharing.
  • User experience metrics: The dashboard includes user sentiment surveys and call quality sentiment metrics to understand how users feel about their call experiences.
  • Call scoring: Calls are scored on a scale from 1 to 10 based on various performance metrics, helping IT quickly identify and address poor call experiences.
  • Geographical data: It provides geographical views to see which data centers users are connecting to and the quality of service in different regions.

VDI Sizing Recommendations Report

ControlUp’s VDI sizing recommendations report is designed to help IT teams optimize their virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments to be more efficient and cost-effective.

  • Resource optimization: The report analyzes CPU, RAM, and disk usage over the past month to provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocations.
  • Historical data analysis: Historical data collected by ControlUp agents is used to make accurate and relevant recommendations.
  • Scalability: The report helps plan for future capacity needs by analyzing current usage trends and predicting future requirements.
  • Interactive sizing calculator: ControlUp offers an online sizing calculator that allows you to input details of your environment and calculate the recommended number of monitor nodes.

Windows 11 Readiness Report

Windows 10 support is ending on October 14, 2025, making it crucial for organizations to plan their migration to Windows 11. ControlUp’s Windows 11 Readiness report helps organizations assess and prepare their devices for the transition to Windows 11.

  • Device scanning: The report scans all Windows devices to check if they meet Microsoft’s minimum requirements.
  • Readiness indicators: This provides clear indicators in the Devices Dashboard showing which devices are not ready for Windows 11.
  • Detailed requirements: For devices that aren’t ready, the report details which specific requirements are not met and whether the device can be upgraded to meet those requirements.
  • Automatic scanning: Devices are rescanned each time the ControlUp Agent starts, ensuring the report is always up to date.

AI Chatbot

ControlUp has integrated an AI-powered chatbot into the DEX platform. This chatbot allows users to interact with stored data for endpoints, applications, and Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) tools using natural language, improving efficiency and experience.

  • Natural language interaction: The chatbot allows users to interact with stored data using natural language, making it easier to access information and metrics without being limited to predefined reports.
  • Real-time data analysis: This view provides real-time insights and analytics from the ControlUp platform, helping IT teams quickly identify and resolve issues.
  • Customizable responses: The chatbot can present results in various formats, including natural language content, tables, grids, and several types of charts tailored to the user’s requests.
  • Historical data access: It analyzes historical data to provide comprehensive responses, ensuring that users get accurate and relevant information based on past events.

ControlUp provides real-time, actionable insights across various aspects of IT management. The dashboards highlighted in this blog help organizations enhance productivity, security, and communication quality. ControlUp enables IT teams to optimize resources, ensure compliance, and prepare for future technological transitions, ultimately driving efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making. This comprehensive approach not only improves the end-user experience but also aligns with broader organizational goals, reducing downtime and mitigating risks.
