ControlUp Technical Advisory Board Highlights

Sure it’s the summer and not the end of the year, but we wanted to share with you now all of the great things that have been happening with the ControlUp Technical Advisory Board over the past year.

New Inductee – Andrew Morgan

First we would like to welcome Andrew Morgan to the Advisory Board. He joins our illustrious group which includes, Shane KleinertJarian Gibson and Shawn Bass, now Sr. Director of Strategy and Planning at VMware.

Andrew has over 10 years of IT experience and currently works as a Senior Solutions Architect at Zinopy. He is an end user computing evangelist, developer, consultant, architect and blogger who is passionate about desktop virtualization, mobility products and application delivery and has a deep working knowledge of virtualization and networking. You can hear Andrew speak at BriForum, Citrix Synergy, E2EVC and Citrix User Group Meetings. He is a Citrix Technology Professional (CTP), VMware vExpert, Nutanix Technology Champion and RES Software Valued Professional (RSVP).

2014/2015 Highlights

Throughout the bi-monthly (yes, once every two months) meetings we have accomplished a great deal. The Advisory Board was integral in designing the:

  • Hypervisor integration feature, specifically one of the new “Host” columns: vCPU/pCPU Ratio (aka the Shawn Bass column)

  • Logon duration feature, with lots of hands on help from both Shane & Jarian
  • ControlUp Insights, newest web based historical reporting module

In addition, Shane joined us at several VMUG meetings on the Eastern Seaboard. He also hung out with us at our Citrix Synergy booth this past May. Shane & Jarian spoke at Citrix Synergy 2014 and mentioned ControlUp in their session XenDesktop Monitoring Bake-off. Lastly, check out the question Shane posed on CUGC – Citrix Monitoring – What are you using? There is a lot of great discussion there, including comments like: “The [ControlUp] demo of v5 at Synergy was pretty badass.”
