What is Remote DX?

  • Remote DX is a technology that uses a non intrusive plugin to give the administrator of the Virtual Desktop (VDI) or DaaS (Desktop as a Service) that you access a glimpse of the health of your device ONLY while connected to that resource (Citrix, Horizon, AVD, Windows 365).
  • You must have the appropriate Client Software already installed (Citrix Workspace App, Horizon Client or WIndows App / Remote Desktop client for AVD/Windows 365).
  • There is no configuration you need to do, no license requirements on your part and this plugin will not interfere in any way.
Follow These Three Steps to Install the Extension on Your Device:
Download

Select and download the appropriate installation file for the VDI or/and DaaS platform you use and your device Operating System (OS). Note that you can download and install more than one plugin for your OS if you connect to more than one platform.

If you are unsure which one you use, check with your VDI/DaaS help desk.

Install

Locate the file you downloaded, Double-click it to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

You will have the choice to allow visibility or not (only while connected to the VDI and DaaS) to the following:

  • If your device is inactive while connected
  • Your approximate location (e.g. in which City you are)
  • The Internet Service Provider (ISP) you are using at the moment
  • The name of your Wi-Fi (i.e. SSID)
Connect

Simply connect back to your VDI or DaaS. That’s it!
