Pulse AI Assistant by ControlUp is presented as an advanced tool designed to significantly accelerate IT troubleshooting and root cause analysis by leveraging high-frequency telemetry and natural language interaction.
It integrates seamlessly with existing role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure secure, permission-aligned access for various IT tiers, preventing unauthorized actions.
The assistant supports multiple languages and allows direct attachment of various file types, such as logs and images, for comprehensive in-chat analysis.
Users can proactively manage credit usage through in-product notifications and track team activity, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient investigations.
It’s Tuesday morning, and five tickets have landed about the same frozen app. Are they connected? Finding out used to mean opening console after console and stitching the story together by hand.
That’s the kind of investigation we built Pulse AI Assistant for when we launched it in January. It cuts console-hopping, speeds root cause analysis, and offers guided next steps. All that, within an easy-to-use, natural-language interface.
Pulse Assistant can quickly analyze the data, interpret the signals, and tell you exactly what to do to solve the problem. Part of what makes it so powerful is the high-frequency telemetry ControlUp already collects across your environment. With Pulse Assistant, you shift from “what happened” to a real understanding of “why it happened.”
A chatbot answers questions. Pulse Assistant works inside your permissions, your usage plan, and your files. Here are some features and capabilities you may not be using yet that can sharpen your next investigation.
Pulse AI Assistant runs on the same role-based access control (RBAC) you already manage in ControlUp. It’s open to Admins by default, and you can determine what other roles can gain access. Access can be changed at any time. What’s more, the Assistant never becomes a shortcut around someone’s role. It only surfaces data the user is already allowed to see, and it can only perform actions they could already perform in the product UI. That makes it practical to open Pulse Assistant up to your service desk without worrying that a Tier 1 tech can suddenly do something through chat that they couldn’t do by hand.
“¿Cuántas aplicaciones han fallado en los últimos siete días?”
“Wie ist der aktuelle DEX-Score meiner Geräte in dieser Woche?”
If you have a globally diverse IT team, they may feel more comfortable investigating in a language other than English. Pulse Assistant supports many common languages—including English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch—allowing you to converse seamlessly in your preferred language.
No one wants to see a surprise you-are-out-of-credits message in the middle of an investigation. Pulse Assistant makes it easy to stay on top of your interaction credits, so you keep access when it matters most. As you approach your limit, you get an in-product notification at 75%, 90%, and 100% of your credit allocation.
You can also quickly check how your team is using credits over time. Simply navigate to Settings and click on Subscriptions, then you can toggle between total license usage and usage over time.
You’ve got the screenshot, the error log, the diagnostic export — and no fast way to get any of it in front of the AI. Now you can drop files straight into the Pulse Assistant and have it analyze them as part of the conversation. Images, logs, JSON, CSVs, and PDFs are all supported, up to five files per message, so you can go from “here’s what I’m seeing” to a real answer without leaving the chat.
Getting more out of Pulse Assistant comes down to knowing what it can do. Role-based access means you can open it up to your service desk without widening anyone’s permissions. Usage notifications at 75%, 90%, and 100% keep a credit limit from catching you mid-investigation. And file attachments let you hand it the screenshot or log you’re staring at, so the answer is grounded in what you’re actually seeing. Try one of these in your next session, and see how much faster you get from the first question to the fix.
