What Is the Innovation Guild?
The ControlUp Innovation Guild is a dedicated team of passionate, experienced, and deeply technical minds from across ControlUp. These individuals live and breathe automation, scripting, solution design, and real-world IT problem-solving. Their mission? To develop practical, meaningful tools and solutions that extend and enhance what ControlUp can do directly based on customer needs, with a strong focus on IT automation.
The Guild’s first months were a real launchpad. The team immediately got to work on several promising initiatives, including:
- Real-time storage monitoring
- Automated reporting frameworks
- Enhanced insights for hybrid work environments to improve digital employee experience
…and more.
The Guild has already delivered its first official monitoring solution: ControlUp Disk Monitor, a lightweight, powerful way to monitor disk health and performance across your environment proactively. The reaction from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. Using ControlUp Disk Monitor, our customers have already uncovered unexpected writes to Windows.old folders, detected incoming updates, and even identified the root causes of Citrix cache issues, saving valuable time and preventing potential outages through proactive IT support.
Why Does the Innovation Guild Exist?
At ControlUp, customer feedback has always been our guiding star. We know that great ideas often come from the field, and we’re committed to making them a reality.
That said, delivering an enterprise-grade platform requires careful balance. Our core product roadmap must prioritize support for the latest Windows and macOS versions, IT compliance with evolving EU and US data regulations, and accessibility standards while maintaining the stability, security, automation, and scalability our customers rely on.
The Innovation Guild bridges the gap between big ideas and real-world delivery. It’s our way of bringing rapid, MVP-style innovation to life—developing lightweight, high-impact solutions that address customer needs faster than traditional product cycles allow.
Guild-built solutions may sometimes require extra setup and feel less fully integrated initially. But for those ready to adopt them, they unlock new possibilities much sooner, especially in areas like application performance management. And for everyone else? The best Guild innovations will be refined and eventually woven directly into the ControlUp ONE digital employee experience platform.
